"Beauty Schooled" August Ipsy Glam Bag

It's time for another Ipsy review!  Since becoming a subscriber 6 months ago, Ipsy has introduced me to many new cosmetic brands.  I just love seeing the pink envelope peeking out from the mail each month.

To see what I received this month, keep reading!

This months bag is different from most bags Ipsy sends.  All the past bags I've received have been the basic square makeup type bags.  This one reminds me of the pencil bags I used to have back in the school days  With the theme of this bag being "Beauty Schooled" the pencil bag is fitting.

This is probably my favorite product from this bag. It's a full size lip balm by Absolute called "You're the Balm" in grape. You can't see it in the picture, but there's tiny little specks of glitter in the product.  I normally don't care for glitter on my lips, so I'm glad the glitter barely shows after applying it. It feels amazing on my lips, and I love the scent.

Right now, you can buy a duo package at Nicka for $5.99. Besides grape, you can also choose between green apples, strawberry or bubblegum.

If you are in the market for mascara, I suggest trying Urban Decay's new mascara called Perversion.  I actually got a preview tube when this came out in July, and I've used it all summer.  I was happy to get a second tube from Ipsy.  It's super lengthening and adds tons of volume to my lashes. The formula is very creamy which means no clumps when applying.  Also, if you have trouble with flaking throughout the day, you will love this mascara. Once it's applied, it stays put until you remove it.

Check out Urban Decay to get a free deluxe sample of their mascara primer Subversion when you order the Perversion mascara for $22!

I've reviewed a few Dr Brandt products in the past and liked all of them, thanks to Ipsy. I'm in love with the Pores No More refiner primer. Once you start using primer under your foundation, there's no going without it!  I love how primer gives such a flawless smooth finish to the face.  This one is super velvety and keeps your makeup looking great all day long.  A little goes a long way, which is good because it's not easy on budget.  Other than pricing, I Love love LOVE this primer!

The Dr Brandt website currently has this primer (1 oz tube) listed for $45.

This is the Silk Kajal Kohl eyeliner from Lord & Berry. Although it went on very smooth and creamy, it didn't stay put.  I wore it around the house for a couple hours and noticed it wearing off around the outer eye area.  It also smeared terribly on my lower lash line.  If you are looking for a liner that can easily be smudged for a smokey eye, I believe this one would work well.

The Forever Blush duo is a fairly small in size, but I've used it a couple times.  Since the pink is a shimmer, and the other a matte, I cut the sample in half because my blush brush is too big to use each color separately.  I usually choose mattes for my blush because I feel like a blush with glitter/shimmer draws attention to imperfections.  The pink shade had too much shimmer for me, but I really like the darker taupe shade, which is the matte.  It's highly pigmented and goes on very smooth.

Check out the Coastal Scents website for a lot of great deals. There's always a sale going on, plus they have great products that are very affordable.

If you haven't subscribed to Ipsy yet, use my link and join in on the fun!  It's $10 per month, and shipping is always free.
