This great little emergency lantern by SecurityIng emits 300 lumens with it's brightest setting. Since I wasn't exactly sure about the "lumen" measurement I did a little research and found out the following...
a dinner candle emits 12 lumens while a 60 watt bulb emits 730 lumens.
With 300 lumens on the brightest setting, it's perfect to have around in case of an emergency. Just last week, we lost power 2 different nights due to storms and tornadoes in the area. Needless to say, this lantern came in very handy. We also took it with us night fishing on the pontoon. The included hook came in very handy... I hung it from the pontoon canopy so it was out of the way. Plus, it's waterproof!
The base has rubber bumpers around the sides and also the bottom. This is great in case it gets dropped. The bottom easily screws off and reveals the batteries. This lantern takes 4 D batteries (not included) and are easy to install.
Another great feature is the LED indicator that's above the on/off switch. This indicator blinks so you are not stumbling around in the dark trying to find it. There's also a LED light on the very top of the lantern that's very handy. As you can see in the picture below, it shines from the very top part of the lantern.
My favorite is the SOS setting. It's a strobe type setting that could potentially be life-saving if you were ever lost or in a true emergency situation.
Also, for all the ladies out there, this lantern also comes in bright pink!
